A good man once told me all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. For that very reason, I feel obligated to tell my story. I started getting sick as a young boy, in and out of doctor’s offices for ear infections every other month. In grade school and high school it was stomach aches and migraines daily with Pepto and Tylenol as my aid. It took suffering from a mild concussion during a high school hockey game to ironically wake me up. Now just like most people, I went to the hospital for help. The doctors prescribed me medications to help with the migraines and they helped for some time, until other problems came about. I began to start having intense spells of dizziness and nausea which caused me to return to the doctor. I was then prescribed two more medications for the new symptoms. Now don’t get me wrong here, these medications did help with covering up my symptoms, but as soon as I would stop taking them the symptoms would return. As my problems increased, so did the number of days out of school and work. Things got to the point where I debated seeing a psychologist because I was told the problems could just be all in my head.
As time passed and my condition worsened, there was one person that reached out to me and changed my life forever. She told me stories of patients suffering with similar issues as mine that were able to heal without the use of drugs. As a student studying to become a pharmacist at the time, treating symptoms with drugs was all I knew possible and being a male also added to me feeling skeptical about getting checked by a Chiropractor. After watching my hero, my grandfather, be taken too early by colon cancer, I grew up with a childish like furious passion that I would be the one to find the cure for cancer. However, at this point I had nothing to lose so I agreed to hear what the doctor had to say. The doctor I saw told me a story about where true health and healing comes from which ultimately changed my life. He told me that there was a very good chance he could help me by taking pressure off my nervous system because that system controls all functions of the body. This was the first doctor to ever sit me down and explain to me exactly how the body works and why interference in my nervous system was the culprit to my health problems. By the time I left his office that night I knew I found my calling in life.
I began getting adjusted the very next day and within a week my headaches were gone, dizziness and nausea non-existent, I was sleeping better, had less stomach pain, and ultimately had energy in my life again. A week after starting care I called my father to inform him of my recent plan to drop out of Pharmacy school and enroll at Palmer College of Chiropractic.
Today I reach out to you all and offer a sign of hope. There are so many people out there suffering with all sorts of problems, and for whatever reason they never try Chiropractic. I love explaining to my Chiropractic patients that the body has an inherent ability to want to heal and be well without the use of drugs and surgery. Of course, we have a great reputation of helping neck and back pain but also with: Sciatica, Allergies, Migraines, Poor sleep, Knee pain, Chronic colds, Ear infections, Numbness of hands and feet, Menstrual pain, Sinus problems, ADHD, Constipation, Crohn’s Disease, Multiple sclerosis, Arthritis, and much more.
I have a passion for health and have traveled as far as Brazil to bring the principles of health and healing to as many people as possible. While in Brazil I served and gave care to underprivileged hospitals and orphanages. After returning home, I practiced with one of the most well known pediatric Chiropractors, Dr. Ashly Oschner. I am now opening my own office, NorthCoast Wellness Center, in Carol Stream IL. It is our mission at NorthCoast Wellness Center to change the way people view and manage their health from the inside out.
