TRADITIONAL CHIROPRACTIC VS. STRUCTURAL CORRECTIVE CHIROPRACTIC
THE CHIROPRACTIC DIFFERENCE
Traditional chiropractic care typically concentrates on increasing range of motion, decreasing muscle spasm, and relieving pain. Traditional chiropractors can be excellent at doing this and removing your pain symptoms. At NorthCoast Wellness Center- Carol Stream, IL our approach is different and focuses on Structural Corrective Chiropractic. We analyze specific structural radiographs and thermographic scans to identify any Structural Shifts of the spine. Reversing structural abnormalities through Structural Corrective Chiropractic gets to the root cause of many underlying conditions. Think of your spine like the foundation of a building. The rest of the building cannot be stable if it’s not sitting on a strong foundation.
Structural Corrective Chiropractic will restore the internal framework that serves as the foundation to your body. Most of our patients appreciate the fact we can show them a before and after picture of their spine to see the progress. Many were tired of patching things up only to have them return a few months later. If your house were on an unsteady foundation would you want to continually patch up the drywall, fix the windows, and continue to nail down the creaky floors every time they appeared? Or would you like to fix the foundation? Our care is for people who are done looking for a simple patch, but instead looking for a customized, long term solution where they can not only feel the difference, but see it with their own eyes.
WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR FIRST CHIROPRACTIC VISIT AT NORTHCOAST
INITIAL CONSULTATION, EXAMINATION, AND REPORT OF FINDINGS
Before we begin, each new practice member is asked to fill out an intake form so that we can get a better understanding about what is going on with your health. This allows us to get an accurate assessment of your health concerns and conditions and what we can do to correct them. After completing the forms, one of our team members will take you on an office tour so you have an understanding about how the office runs and where everything is located. Dr. Doug or a team member will complete a one on one consultation with you to understand what your health concerns are. We will also take time to educate you about corrective chiropractic care and how you can meet your health goals. We will then complete neurological testing using our NASA certified thermal technology to determine if you have any structural shifts in your spine and see how your body is functioning. If needed, a team member will take digital postural x-rays to get a more detailed understanding about your nervous system. Digital x-rays give a clear, instant image with less radiation exposure than traditional film based x-rays.
Once all of the objective testing is completed, we will schedule your second appointment. During this time, we will go over what normal test results look like and compare your results to normal. From there, we go over insurance benefits if applicable as well as recommendations for treatment to correct your underlying health concerns. Since all of your results are analyzed, Dr. Doug will be able to deliver your first gentle corrective chiropractic adjustment. He may also use an instrument called an Arthrostim in order to facilitate corrective care.
